Sourcing guide

Custom Size Wood Boards, Shelves and Blanks

Cut-to-size wood boards are often used for shelves, furniture parts, DIY products, cabinet components and further CNC machining. The inquiry should define size, tolerance, surface and packaging.

Custom board sourcing starts with the final application

The same board size can require different quality standards depending on whether it becomes a shelf, tabletop, cabinet part, door component, DIY SKU or semi-finished blank. Buyers should define the use case before confirming species and finish.

Details to send

  • Board size, thickness, tolerance and allowed bow or twist
  • Species, grade, visible-face quality and color range
  • Edge treatment, radius, chamfer, sanding or CNC machining
  • Unfinished, coating-ready, primed, stained or sealed surface
  • Bundle, carton, retail pack or pallet packaging
  • Destination market, order quantity and annual demand

Why packaging should be specified early

Custom boards can be scratched or dented when stacked or bundled poorly. If boards are visible, paint-ready or retail-packed, packaging should be reviewed together with product tolerances.
